Jordan has many Arab, continental, oriental and traditional
restaurants most of which are situated in Amman offering their
specialties to the customers at all meal times. Fast food
restaurants have become very popular and are wide spread. All of
these restaurants open daily from morning till night. Some
popular restaurants open 24 hours serving hot falafel and
hummos. Restaurants in Jordan are not as expensive as in Europe
or other countries. The prices vary from cheap to reasonable,
depending on the restaurant itself. However, there is a 10%
service tax plus 10% Government tax added to the bill. Coffee
shops are also very common. Tea, herbs and coffee are served
along with the traditional (argeeleh) hubbly bubbly with a
selection of original tobaccos.
