The National Palace Hotel, (NPH) a four star hotel, is one of the oldest established hotels in East Jerusalem, its central location within walking distance from the old city and its famous gourmet Arabic restaurant made it an attractive site to be visited by world leaders such as King Hussien of Jordan; President Jimmy Carter of USA and the Greek President early this year January 2000.

The NPH started operation in 1949 as a family business. In 1949 it was only four rooms and the famous Al watani restaurant. In 1952 the number of rooms was increased to 54 rooms, and further increased to 108 rooms in 1962. Plans are under way to expand and renovate the hotel to include 200 deluxe rooms; a convention center; coffee shops; restaurants; swimming pool and a parking lot.

Its unique location makes it an attractive place to business customers and journalists .The hotel is surrounded by banks;

Travel agencies; airline offices; pharmacies; restaurants; laundry shops; post office and Rockefeller museum.

At night you can have your dinner on the roof top restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Arabic food over looking

Mount of Olives and Mount Scopus.
